Brought to you by the following:
The Linda and CRUMBS.net, the
online place where all musicians and local music fans start the
process of networking with everyone who’s anyone in the Capital
Region music business, have joined to present CRUMBS Nite Out at
The Linda. The evening will feature local performers, a special
pre show music scene mixer, and industry vendor tables. The Jan
24 was such a success. Every musician and band that was there benefited
in some way. Some were able to get a new gig but most were able
to connect with other musicians, venues, recording studios, and
videographer. Stop by the next event and continue to network. We
look forward to seeing you there making that networking connection
and furthering your music career.

Blackcat Elliot - After
the breakup of his band North Again, Kostas Gus Hais said to himself,
"Never again." But he's learned to never say never, especially
to the rock n roll bug, so he is back in the spotlight with Blackcat
Elliot, who have quietly become one of the Capital Region's most
popular bands. Don't believe me? Blackcat Elliot has taken the runners-up
spot in the best local band category in the Times Unions Readers
Poll in each of the past four consecutive years. They took the top
spot in the Capital Region Living readers' poll, and they were named
"best-kept secret" in Metroland's readers' poll. Well,
Blackcat Elliot isn't going to be a secret any longer. The high-energy,
go-for-the-throat indie rockers have just unleashed their sophomore
CD, "Never Come Clean" on Billbored Records. Recorded
at Albanys Scarlet East Studio and produced by John Delehanty, the
nine-song disc crackles from the big buzzing bass riff of the opening
title track right through to the hooky pop-in-overdrive closer,
"Close to Mine."

Sirsy - SIRSY is fronted by the
"charismatic Melanie Krahmer" who reviewers say has a
"stunning voice capable of a lion's roar and a floaty whisper".
Krahmer is also the band's drummer, playing a full drum kit while
STANDING UP, bass parts with her drum stick, and the occasional
Ian Anderson-esque flute solo (sometimes playing drums, flute, and
bass all at once). Not to be outdone, guitarist Rich Libutti also
plays bass parts with his feet and even the occasional snare part
with his feet (during Krahmer's flute solos). Everything is played
live. Despite the multi-tasking on stage with this unique set up,
the duo manages to have a "dynamic stage presence and chemistry"
that has audiences and critics raving. The Boston Globe says "Little
band, BIG sound!" and New York's City's Village Voice urges
readers to "Go see sirsy!". Reviewers say, SIRSY has written
an "arsenal of well-crafted, ear catching, lyrically smart
and musically sound songs filled with hooks and levels of meaning".
Playing over 250 shows per year, SIRSY has shared the stage with:
Maroon5, Lifehouse, Collective Soul, Blues Traveler, Cheap Trick,
Vertical Horizon, Fuel, and many more. SIRSY currently tours along
the east coast and throughout the Mid-West. And, YES... this IS
their day job.

Music Scene Mixer
The music scene mixer hour starts at 7:00pm and the performers
go on at 8:00pm. During the mixer be sure to bring your band's information,
promotional packages, and CDs. This event will not only feature
three great performances but it will also host networking tools
to promote the local music scene. The first hour of the event will
be a music scene mixer featuring the following:
- Vendors may include video production companies,
producers, record labels, venue managers, local media, t-shirt
companies, booking agents, local bands and more.
- We hear all the time that local media, including
newspapers and alternative magazines, are always looking for band
information and show dates. This is a great opportunity to inform
bands on how to get their information in the media.
- Bands are looking for venues and venues are
looking for bands. This allows venue managers to get information
from numerous bands in person at once without the annoying phone
calls.
- Musicians are always looking for other musicians.
Meet and greet other musicians and bands. Who knows, you may get
a gig out of the networking.
CRUMBS Staff will be There
- Accepting CDs to be played on CRUMBS Radio.
- Accepting promo packages for Freakshow Entertainment
booking agency.
- Accepting business cards and considerations for
CRUMBS Café interviews.
- Announcing live want ads.
- Playing CDs of local bands though out the night.
- Giving away CRUMBS stickers.
Be Apart of Broadcast History
- CRUMBS only books musicians and bands that have
something amazing about them or, in a sense, have that “wow”
factor. When you come to a CRUMBS Nite Out at The Linda show you
are being entertained by the very best that the Capital Region
has to offer.
- The entire performance will be professionally
recorded and re-broadcasted on WAMC which can be heard across
New York and six neighboring states. Not only can you enjoy the
show live but you can listen to it just about anywhere at a later
date. This means that your cheers for your favorite band will
be herd throughout the North East.
